Who Invented Barbed Wire?
Barbed wire was developed by several people, but the first person to apply for a patent is Joseph Glidden. DeKalb County Fair by displaying a prototype inspired by barbed wire in 1873 in Illinois, Glidden try different wire twist method finally presented his patent in November 24, 1874.
Glidden barbed wire into the business with another experimenter to Isaac Ellwood, mass production innovation. Meanwhile, Jacob Haish, another inventor inspired by the same county fair show, competing patent competition had submitted. His patent, in fact, is the first approved, led to his self-proclaimed inventor of barbed wire; but Glidden’s patent application for the first time. He and Elwood gave a barbed wire finals patents and became Glidden is known as the “Father of the barbed wire.”
